Aseptic Technique in Rodent Surgery

Aseptic Technique in Rodent Surgery is a comprehensive 18 minute video tutorial designed to help research workers apply best practice in aseptic surgical techniques in laboratory rodents. It includes sections on preparation of the animal, surgeon, for surgery and surgical procedures themselves and batch surgery, each of which can be viewed separately.

A trainer's pack is also available for those responsible for training staff in aseptic surgical techniques. Trainer's packs include the video files together with supplementary material which can be downloaded and used in your own presentations.

This resource forms part of Procedures with care; produced by the highly respected Newcastle University (UK) group in partnership with the UK National Centre for the 3Rs. Copyright is retained by Newcastle University.

Aseptic Technique in Rodent Surgery is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate training and for staff CPD. It should not replace hands-on training within an individual's institution, but be used as a supplementary educational resource.
