Guidance on justification of animal usage for MRC funding provides guidance for applicants seeking funding from the United Kingdom Medical Research Council on the details required in the justification of animal use section of their application including why they need to use animals, the reason for the choice of species, sample size, the proposed statistical analysis and measures to reduce bias. This detail being required to ensure there was enough information the application to allow the experimental design aspects of the research involving laboratory animals to be properly peer reviewed.

The resource also includes worked examples to demonstrate the level of detail required.
